Safety & Reporting Policy
Version 1.0· MVP / Proof of Concept
Effective Date: July 2026
Our Commitment to Safety
ChatBomb is designed to help people connect locally in a positive and respectful way. While we work to provide a safe platform, every user also has a responsibility to make sensible decisions when interacting with others.
Personal Safety
Always trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, end the interaction immediately. Never feel pressured to continue a conversation or attend a meeting that makes you uncomfortable.
Meeting Another User
Where possible, meet in a public place during daylight or in a busy venue. Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, arrange your own transport and leave immediately if you feel unsafe.
Protecting Your Privacy
Never share unnecessary personal information such as your home address, financial information, passwords or identification documents. ChatBomb intentionally displays only approximate locations to other users.
Reporting a User or ChatBomb
If you encounter behaviour that breaches our standards, use the in-app Report function. Select the most appropriate reason, provide additional details where possible, and submit your report. Every report is reviewed.
Blocking Users
You may block another user at any time. Blocking prevents further communication and helps protect your experience on ChatBomb.
Scams and Fraud
Never send money to someone you have only met through ChatBomb. Be cautious of requests involving financial assistance, investment opportunities, gift cards, cryptocurrency or personal banking information.
Inappropriate Behaviour
Harassment, bullying, threats, discrimination, stalking, impersonation, scams, unlawful activity and sexually explicit or exploitative behaviour are prohibited and may result in account suspension or permanent removal.
Moderator Response
Our moderation team reviews reports as quickly as reasonably possible. Depending on the circumstances we may issue warnings, remove content, suspend accounts or permanently remove users from the platform.
Emergency Situations
If you believe there is an immediate threat to your safety or the safety of another person, contact your local emergency services first. ChatBomb is not an emergency response service.
Law Enforcement
Where required by law, or where necessary to protect users or investigate serious criminal activity, ChatBomb may cooperate with law enforcement agencies in accordance with applicable Australian laws.
Your Responsibility
Every user plays a role in creating a safe community. Think before posting, treat others with respect, report concerning behaviour and help make ChatBomb a trusted platform for local connections.
